What is LEAF?
The LEAF (Life Skills, Educational Success, Accountability, Future Planning) program serves students who are at risk of failing classes or struggling with behavior, and each participant is recommended by their school guidance counselor. Students are transported from school to a central venue, where they receive a meal, academic assistance, emotional support, and a curriculum designed to impart essential life skills. The program equips students with the tools necessary for self-improvement and personal empowerment.
West Stanly Middle School
“Data on students shows that 9 of the 14 improved their grades in at least two of their core classes. 10 of the 14 students held their absences under the limit of 16. All but one student had under two office referrals, with 8 of them having zero. The work of this program is amazing. Staff do a great job keeping me in the loop…I look forward to working with Live Again Ministries next year and seeing how this program will grow in the future.”
— Beth Pinto, Guidance Counselor
2024/2025 School Year:

✓ 71% stayed under the absence limit
✓ 57% had zero office referrals

Albemarle Middle School
In 2024, we also began serving Albemarle Middle School. Former Principal Brian Bradshaw reflected:
“We are already observing significant improvements among our most at-risk students due to their consistent and high-quality support. What distinguishes LEAF is the deep, positive relationships their leaders cultivate with our students—relationships that empower and encourage growth both within the classroom and beyond.”
